Once a week – 4 (Marika)
Metaphor lives a secret life all around us. We utter about six metaphors a minute. Metaphorical thinking is essential to how we understand ourselves and others, how we communicate, learn, discover and invent. But metaphor is a way of thought before it is a way with words.
What a face! What a photograph! And an interesting quote.
The saying was not chosen by chance. Marika was a woman with a life as a metaphor. A woman who knew who she was, who knew how to get along with her and the world. And she spoke so little!
She was my patient and I loved her for her way of being in her illness.
